Introduction to Automations
Let the system handle repetitive actions for you.
Note: Automations is a Pro feature.
What automations do
Automations handle repetitive tasks so you don't have to remember them.
They follow a simple pattern: when something happens (trigger), optionally check a condition, then do something (action).
How they work
Go to Automations. Click "New Automation."
Pick a trigger. Examples:
- When a contact moves to a pipeline stage
- When a contact hasn't been contacted in X days
- When a new contact is added
Optionally add a condition (e.g., "only if they're tagged as VIP").
Choose an action. Examples:
- Create a task
- Send a reminder
- Update a field
Real examples
Example 1: When a contact moves to "Proposal Sent" stage, create a task to follow up in 3 days.
Example 2: When a contact hasn't been contacted in 30 days, create a reminder to check in.
Example 3: When a new contact is added with the tag "Lead," add them to the sales pipeline.
Tips
- Start with one simple automation. See if it helps before adding more.
- Don't automate everything. Only automate things you actually forget to do manually.
- Test your automation with a few contacts before relying on it.
- You can turn automations off anytime if they're not working for you.
